From the outside, this beautiful timber cottage looks like it may have once housed early settlers, but inside, it is timber-lined, warm and welcoming. The large living and dining space has an open fire coupled with electric heating and a clean trouble-free kitchen with comfortable furniture.

Double glass doors open up to the large outdoor living deck with a step down to the attractive grassed garden area below -- at dawn or dusk, you will often share the space with one of Bruny Island’s unique White Wallabies - regular visitors to this garden.

Sitting outside with a nice bottle of wine accompanied by exquisite local cheeses and engaging with the stunning bush surroundings, enjoying the forest life whilst taking in the serenity of this truly special place, is a typically mesmerizing Saintys Creek Cottage experience.

Sustainability

Preserving our properties pristine environment is of utmost importance to Bruny Island Coastal Retreats. We have dedicated ourselves to protecting and managing the land which surrounds our accommodations to safeguard the native flora and fauna which inhabit our delicate ecosystems; which unfortunately, are too often rare or critically endangered.

We actively promote responsible waste management by composting all food leftovers and green waste through our large worm farm – a first of its kind in Tasmania – where organic waste is transformed into nutrient-rich compost, thereby, reducing landfill whilst also bolstering our local ecosystems health.

When you choose to stay with Bruny Island Coastal Retreats, you not only indulge in a unique and memorable experience, but also contribute to the conservation of our precious natural heritage. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

Guest Reviews

This was a really memorable holiday. Bruny just by itself was spectacular but being able to stay at Saintys Creek in the middle of that forest so close to Cloudy Bay really made it something special. Easily the highlight for us was the animal and bird life. The sounds of exotic bird calls echoing through the forest all day long were wonderfully calming. The plant life around the cottage is also fantastic. It seemed other- worldly to us mainlanders. The cottage was perfectly sized and really well appointed. We really appreciated the higher quality cooking equipment and especially that fantastic coffee machine. Nice linen on the bed and a great shower rounded it all off. Just a great place to stay! Big thanks to Ben for being such a great host. We're definitely coming back.

We have just had the privilege of 3 nights at Sainty's! As I wrote in the visitors book “In a world gone crazy it was like a big warm Nanna hug” We would like to thank Ben and the family of 7 Paddy Melons who clearly are the real owners of the land and also the little Robin who would peck on the window and chirp until we came out to give her some attention ! We collected oysters and cheese on the way and didn’t move for 3 days !! It was raining and cold but inside we lit the fire and watched through the beautiful French doors into back garden filled Paddy Melons and so many different types of birds it was absolutely amazing ! 3 days felt like 3 weeks we drove out refreshed and planning our next stay ! PS the bed was so comfortable and the coffee machine an extra special surprise. Thanks Ben Thanks PaddyMelons and our Robin ????

Lovely little cottage. It was clean and fully equipped. The surrounds were beautiful and the wildlife visited us every day. It was amazing to have the Pademelons come right up to the back door. Would recommend this property.

We had a great time on Bruny Island. Saintys Creek Cottage is a brilliant spot. So much wildlife. Very exciting. The bird bath is a fantastic way of being so many of Tassie's birds up close. We got to see 10 of Tassie's 12 endemic birds plus many others including a wedge-tailed eagle drinking near bridge, pademelons, wallabies, possums & rakali as well. The cottage is very comfortable and set up well. A pond or dish on the ground with water would be good for ground-dwelling wildlife. They polished off the dish of water we put out each night.

Quaint & cosy, just the way we like it.
R & R

We loved our stay at Saintys Creek Cottage; cosy and quiet just what we like. The kitchen was well equipped, one of the best I've seen. Loved watching the wildlife cruising around. For us the lack of phone reception and limited internet was absolute bliss. Minor negative, we happened t be there on a rare day when it was stinking hot, a pedestal fan would have been bliss. Would stay here again.
