From the outside, this beautiful timber cottage looks like it may have once housed early settlers, but inside, it is timber-lined, warm and welcoming. The large living and dining space has an open fire coupled with electric heating and a clean trouble-free kitchen with comfortable furniture.

Double glass doors open up to the large outdoor living deck with a step down to the attractive grassed garden area below -- at dawn or dusk, you will often share the space with one of Bruny Island’s unique White Wallabies - regular visitors to this garden.

Sitting outside with a nice bottle of wine accompanied by exquisite local cheeses and engaging with the stunning bush surroundings, enjoying the forest life whilst taking in the serenity of this truly special place, is a typically mesmerizing Saintys Creek Cottage experience.

Guest Reviews

We had a wonderful stay at The Cottage. It was peaceful and beautiful, surrounded by the multilayered Tasmanian bush with visits from wallabies and pademelons and a very insistent shrike thrush. One of our trio loves birds so after dark we went looking for owls. No owls but so many other nocturnal creatures. A walk to Cloudy Bay East Head through flowering shrubs accompanied by fast moving squalls was invigorating and then returning to the cottage and a warm fire. What more could we want? Thank you Ben for organising a last minute booking . Hope to be back .

I loved how secluded the property was , nobody around for miles , perfect place to unwind and relax . The property itself was in amazing condition , the wooden decor perfectly in sync with the location , so close to nature that only visitors we had were the wallabies.

We just enjoyed 2 lovely day here and really loved it. The fire was great, hot, and warm. Showers instant hot water cooked in the kitchen and really enjoyed the quiet time (no children for us for a few days). Enjoyed a lunch at Bruny island premium wines and a lovely relaxed dinner at the pub. We will be back, one more day would have been nice. Cheers.

Arriving at night gave us the element of surprise waking up & seeing the beautiful surrounding forest. Regretting not booking for a week this is the perfect spot to relax & enjoy exploring the area. We’re coming back this feel like a home away from home. Don’t want to leave. Thank you.

Our three days in the cottage were very peaceful & the wood fire is great, though we did need to cut some more-something we hadn’t done for a long time! It was fascinating to watch the pademelons at deck& occasionally in the mornings-they didn’t seem to mind foraging in the rain too! Everything is well set up- Thank you.
