Saintys Creek is a tranquil and beautiful body of water flowing through centuries-old forest and dispersing into the serene Cloudy Bay Lagoon on South Bruny Island. Saintys Creek Cottage is located on a secluded bush block, a short walk from the creek – and a million miles from the stresses of city life.
From the outside, this beautiful timber cottage looks like it may have once housed early settlers, but inside, it is timber-lined, warm and welcoming. The large living and dining space has an open fire coupled with electric heating and a clean trouble-free kitchen with comfortable furniture.
Double glass doors open up to the large outdoor living deck with a step down to the attractive grassed garden area below -- at dawn or dusk, you will often share the space with one of Bruny Island’s unique White Wallabies - regular visitors to this garden.
Sitting outside with a nice bottle of wine accompanied by exquisite local cheeses and engaging with the stunning bush surroundings, enjoying the forest life whilst taking in the serenity of this truly special place, is a typically mesmerizing Saintys Creek Cottage experience.
Preserving our properties pristine environment is of utmost importance to Bruny Island Coastal Retreats. We have dedicated ourselves to protecting and managing the land which surrounds our accommodations to safeguard the native flora and fauna which inhabit our delicate ecosystems; which unfortunately, are too often rare or critically endangered.
We actively promote responsible waste management by composting all food leftovers and green waste through our large worm farm – a first of its kind in Tasmania – where organic waste is transformed into nutrient-rich compost, thereby, reducing landfill whilst also bolstering our local ecosystems health.
When you choose to stay with Bruny Island Coastal Retreats, you not only indulge in a unique and memorable experience, but also contribute to the conservation of our precious natural heritage. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
