Magestic views, that edge of the world feeling. We loved the remoteness, the concept of being off the grid. Gorgeous pademelons, the sound of the waves. My parents discovered this cabin a few years back and promised to bring me and my boy for an adventure. Cold dip in the sea x2, Bike ride through the pines and back along the beach. Beach Sculptures, Beach combing and rock hopping. Trivial pursuit, card games and good chats. What a special place!!!
Guiver Family

Third time visit - Three days of relaxation - whisky, wine, good food, and good company. Two days of good walks and sunshine - third day freezing and made good use of the heater.
Nic and Ann, Mike and Jill

We loved staying in Cloudy Bay Cabin. We saw lots of wallabies and the sunsets are beautiful. The picnic table is a great spot to sit and have a glass of wine and admire the view. The beach is great for playing cricket, swimming (although there is lots of seaweed), skim boarding and walking. We also did a few walks, they were spectacular as well, definitely recommend. We will be back!
The Lyons Family

We would rather not review, as we wish to keep this little place a secret! The cabin is just delightful and uncomplicated and we have now visited 3 times. It is not for people who drive little cars with low ground clearance and not for those who want any sort of creature comforts of the 21st century. It is however just perfect for those who are happy to be totally isolated, far from civilisation, 200 metres from the beach, warm and cosy and able to relax. It is off the grid and a welcome oasis from this troubled world.
Ann

Another amazing week at Cloudy Bay Cabin - our 15th family trip I think! Beautiful weather mixed with thunder and lightening, walks, swimming, board games, the jigsaw from hell and BBQs. Saw a blue-tongued lizard, a black snake, an echidna, a large albino wallaby and even a small scorpion. See you next year.
Claire

What an incredibly beautiful location and what a super cosy cabin. We had a great family holiday in Cloudy Bay Cabin - thanks very much for having us!
Cam Smith

We've stayed here twice now, the first time we got engaged. The cabin has a rustic and basic charm, and is super cozy; The location is superb. We will come back here again to recharge, reconnect, and re synchronise with each other, and nature.
Dan & Rachel

A really stunning start to our Tasmanian adventure - idyllic location off the beaten track and on a beautiful beach. The kids lost themselves in nature, running onto the beach past the wildlife and we were in total solitude. The cabin itself was cosy, well equipped and clean. Beds also comfortable.
Phil G

Cloudy Bay Cabin is nature's paradise! The opportunity to feel so connected to this amazing land & it's animals is priceless, with the remoteness only adding to this. Cloudy Bay is everything I had dreamed it was, plus more. Ben was so helpful with the booking process & sharing his knowledge about the area, which was so appreciated. If this area calls you, please don't hesitate booking Cloudy Bay Cabin ... you won't regret it.
Sharon

Such a beautiful cabin in a secluded, pristine bay. Loved every minute of our stay at Cloudy bay Cabin. I can't recommend this place enough, absolutely perfect.
Melissa

We had a wonderful time at the Cloudy Bay Cabin. The location was fantastic with incredible views of Cloudy Bay- I loved just looking at the bay. The cabin was also well positioned for a couple of great bush walks. The cabin was comfortable and had everything we needed. Great for a family getaway. We would love to come back.
Petrina

As a family we LOVED Cloudy Bay Cabin. It is secluded, private and nestled in the sand dunes of Cloudy Bay. It's comfy and really quite spacious and it's well equipped with a good kitchen, BBQ and comforts of home. The fireplace looks amazing (we didn't actually use it) and the deck is a great spot to admire the waves and the gorgeous sunsets. There are some great walking tracks nearby which we made use of and we really enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness that this location provides.
Adrian, Robyn & Hannah

The cabin feels like the most isolated sanctuary on an island which is entirely a sanctuary. Our stay offered a time to experience the simple life, with enough creature comforts to feel cosy. The sunset views from the couch draw a close to perfect days of beach walking, bird watching and exploring coastal heathlands.
Tara and Mark

Amazing location. Perfect cabin with all the amenities. We couldn’t have asked for anything better for our special occasion.
Belinda

Terrific cabin for a secluded getaway. It was exactly as described and had everything that was needed. We only had a couple of days but if more I would have stocked up with groceries and never left. Perfect location to just sit and relax.
Jen McMahon

Excellent property, superb location. Well equipped. Road is a bit rough but it keeps out those who don't need to be there.
Peter Coote

We had an amazing stay at the cabin. Nice to switch off and just enjoy nature. The birdlife here is amazing. Other wildlife at night is abundant. Our girls loved running on the beach and the sunrises and sunsets are wonderful. Each one special and hard to capture the beauty on a camera. The views demand an audience.
Trent, Jenni, Eden and Waverly

If there is a heaven on this earth it must be here. Weather - who cares. We could not pick a better spot to relax. Thanks B & V.
V & B

Thank you for letting us stay at this fantastic location. We loved this cabin. Thank you Ben for a really wonderful stay. We loved the swims, the walks, the peace and quiet and the views. The baby swallows learning to fly. The white wallaby we saw on the 2nd night was so special. The fishing, the friendly locals, the boards games and flying kites. The quieter life for a glorious week!
Daisy, Natalie and Kevin

We’ve just returned from a wonderful week in Tasmania, three days of which were spent in a cabin on Cloudy Bay, at the bottom of Bruny Island. Apart from a stunning and serene location, our time here was just as special because of the local wildlife, including this pair of welcome swallows. What we initially mistook as interest in us, was instead interest in their young, nesting in the eaves above the front door. During each day here, we kept our time on the porch to a minimum, allowing the parents to fly out in search of food, then return every few minutes with eagerly awaited mouthfuls. Typically, as is the case in this image, one would remain nearby while the other scouted and collected, then they would swap roles. However by each evening, when the entire family was snuggled quietly overhead, we’d sneak out with a blanket and a glass of wine, and watch the day fade across the bay, and behind the distant mountains of mainland Tasmania. If it were possible, we’d be back there tomorrow.
Al

Loved the seclusion and absolute beachfront location-idyllic. Appreciated the cosy old cabin with an eco touch and funky-eclectic furniture touches plus the comfy bed and quality linens. Loved the birds-Button quail, Oyster catchers, Sea Eagles, Robins etc. Saw dolphins our first morning, exciting! Love to return.
Linden & Nick

Location location..... Pristine wilderness. One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Relaxed, comfortable accommodation with the most spectacular views. Amongst the most beautiful wilderness possible. Was just a stone’s throw away from Cloudy Bay Beach. Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing. The most amazing view of Cloudy Bay. Accommodation isn't fancy but is very comfortable and has a well equipped kitchen. We couldn't BELIEVE the location when we arrived. We will be back again for sure.
Michelle

This is the first time we stayed in such an off-electricity grid cabin. We love the cabin and its facilities. All are very complete and thoughtfully put together. Loved the clear sky right in front of us in the night. Ben was very helpful and made our stay a pleasant one. Thank you and we look forward to coming back again.
Kim and Jody

Wonderful time at Cloudy Bay Cabin, thank you. Spectacular sunsets, crisp morning swims (in April) and sensational fishing at dusk. Managed to complete 2/3 jigsaw (but the thatched roof was too much).
Finnigan Family

If you want total peace and quiet this is a wonderful location. The cabin is everything you need (warm, clean) and in such a wonderful spot. A long drive in means you know you have selected a secluded hideaway. A beautiful beach to walk along and wonderful macropods to share the evening with. We should have stayed longer to truly wind down and sample more of the walks
Edwina L

It was wonderful experience and will be back soon
Aenish Shrestha

The peaceful location was a balm to the soul, once we arrived from an adventurous drive through changeable terrain. The cabin was in a prime position taking in stunning sunsets across Cloudy Bay. All necessary items were available and a very effective BBQ. We enjoyed lots of sitting on the verandah observing the wildlife and more active bush walkers and camping types. All in all a most relaxing few days. Don’t forget you need all your supplies!
Judy

What a wonderful place for the soul. We will be back
Jrt

An awesome place to stay. Great views and so close to Cloudy Beach. Very comfortable and well appointed cabin. Ben and his staff were very friendly and helpful when we had an issue with the gas - sorted straight away. Highly recommend Cloudy Bay cabin as a place to stay, you will not be disappointed!
Tanya Field

Absolutely beautiful spot, if you’re looking for rustic isolation then this is the place. Adored it here, and we will be back as soon as possible!
Emma Power

One of the most special places I have ever stayed in. I didn't want to leave. I will be back
Bonny

This is a quaint little cabin in the most amazing location with amazing views. We had a lovely couple of nights here and would certainly do it again.
Toni & friends

Cloudy bay cabin is in an amazing, remote location that provides a real sense of Tasmanian wilderness. You can sit comfy by the fire while looking out over cloudy bay. Very comfortable and a unique experience.
Callum

The place is as isolated as you would want. It’s at the end of a bumpy 4km driveway, on the edge of a 3km beach and I didn’t see a single other person for the two days I was there, only curious cows. And Deepak who came to help me with the heater. The fitout was done by people who understand the important bits (milk, torches, good bed linen, cleanliness, maintenance) and don’t bother with the fancy stuff. The negative bits are not the fault of the managers, but you have to know if you're going to stay: THE OPTUS SIGNAL IS CRAP. Telstra is probably ok, but for the phone, it was absent most of the time, with brief windows every few hours. Inside or outside the house. So prepare for not having comms. This lead to an additional problem as I couldn’t figure out the heater, needed to ask for help and sat huddled in a blanket as I waited for the Optus satellites to tilt around the earth.. It was a warm blanket and the seas in Cloudy Bay were spectacular. Eventually I got a signal and Ben, who got Deepak, who showed me the hidden control panel on the heater (it was a new heater; the control panel now has a label on it). It was a comfortable comforting cabin in a profoundly beautiful place and I could have stayed there for months. I just would have nipped over to the mainland to pick up a Telstra sim.
Marie

Bruny Island Cabin is a truly amazing! Not for everyone but if your one of those who likes to get away from it all, this is for you! Great views, lovely long walks along the beach. It may not be one of the flashiest along Cloudy Bay Beach but it has all you need & is very comfortable & it certainly has the easiest access to the beach. I would certainly return there when I am next on Bruny Island
Guest

A truly lovely spot where we were fortunate to spend a couple of nights. Very sad it couldn't have been a week of solitude. Thanks for everything Ben.
Bernie Murray

A beautiful location, perfect for a small retreat.
Freedom Through Sound

What a rare and wonderful experience. So pristine, so beautiful and so relaxing. The perfect place to leave all your worries behind and lay back and just stop.
Craig

We had a very comfortable 2 night midwinter stay in the wildest of weather, watching the changing conditions and feeling safe and warm in the cabin. An issue with the heater was attended to promptly by Ben and Victor for which we were very grateful. The beds are comfortable with plenty of spare blankets if needed. We didn’t feel that we needed anything which wasn’t provided apart from the provisions we had taken ourselves, which is important as it is a long drive to a shop. The location of the cabin is breathtaking and unique and we will definitely be returning.
Angela

We stayed for 3 nights. It is just a stunning place to unwind and relax. The rustic cabin was comfortable and warm and only added to the unique experience of this awesome place. The views and wilderness of this location are amazing and is the perfect place to get away from it all. We will be definitely staying here again.
Dom J.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this hidden gem by the sea. So much wildlife, beautiful sunrises, sunsets, gorgeous long walks on the beach and we’ve never seen so many stars before! Great to disconnect from phones and the internet for awhile and just spend time with those you are with. Thank you for an amazing holiday. We hope to be back soon.
Jenni Hagland

We stayed at Cloudy Bay cabin for two nights with friends from USA. It was absolute paradise!! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting an idyllic isolated beach front property all to themselves. The cabin was simple but with all the amenities you could possibly need. It was clean and perfect for the four of us. We loved every minute of our time there.
Christine Metcalfe

We loved it.

5 out of 5 by John on Hotels.com Posted Jan 24, 2018 Amazing place. We have been all over Tasmania but this was as good as it gets. Perfect weather. The water was warm, surf was good, beautiful walks. One of the best places on earth.
John

We've just returned from a wonderful week in Tasmania and without a doubt, the highlight for us was the few days spent in Cloudy Bay Cabin. The drive to the cabin, through pastures, forest and dunes is a delightful experience on its own, and provides just enough distance from civilisation to feel private without feeling isolated. The cabin sits on a grassy hill at the edge of forest, and looks across miles of beach to to the other side of Cloudy Bay and the distant mountains of south-east Tasmanian mainland. We spent most of our days exploring Bruny Island, all of which can be reached within no more than an hour's drive from the cabin. However we made sure we left plenty of time to return in the evenings, walk along the beach, and then watch pademelons emerge from the bush and graze on the grass beneath the porch. Inside, the cabin has a large combined living area including kitchen, dining table and living area - with plenty of windows facing the beach. Then there are 2 bedrooms (one for a couple and the other with 4 bunks), and a laundry, shower and separate toilet. As long as you're well stocked up on groceries (available from the general store on Adventure Bay, or the Bruny Island Cheese and Beer Co.) you'll have everything you need here to enjoy what we found to be a completely enviable and unmissable life-style. Al & Wendy.

Fabulous place, peaceful, quiet and stunning views. Comfortable and cosy cabin with everything you need
Mark

Amazing place. 4th time I have stayed there and it never fails to disappoint. Highly recommend to anyone.
Brett Johnstone

To anyone feeling drained, exhausted and wishing you could escape to the family beach house nestled behind the sand dunes on a majestic surf beach, stop waiting for your invite and just call Ben. Cloudy Bay cabin is your destination, trouble is you won’t want to leave. Solitude without being totally cut off.(yes you can recharge your phone if you have too) . My only problem was my companion was freaked out about cooking with gas. At least that was her claim. End result I got to do all the cooking. Great place for drawing.
Allison Hudson

Just perfect. A place to disconnect and recharge. Highly recommended.
Steve

Great place! Great location! Awesome winter getaway.
Louise

Incredible location. Wonderful "off grid" experience. Cabin was so comfortable. Loved the bed ! The ever changing view was a real highlight. Thanks Ben and Viktor !!
R & C

What a wonderful part of the world! Loved the cosy cabin and the beach was very safe for the kids to play in. Spotted a sand octopus. The highlight was the bush walk to Beaufort Bay! Thanks for a lovely time.
The Palmer family

What a unique and special place to spend time in nature and with family and friends. Can recommend the 8 KM round trip Cloudy Bay walk with superb coastline views (via Campside). Thanks to the hosts for an excellent facility with great amenities. Particularly impressed with log cabin during 60+km/h gale free winds rains, alas no aurora display during our stay but made up for by beautiful views and wild life.

I have no words for how special this place is and it will now forever hold a piece of my heart ! ENGAGED by the beach staying in this beautiful, magic cottage. A place we will remember forever.

A Cloudy Bay Cabin Christmas ! Absolutely loved our time here - Flew kites on the beach, drank hot chocolates, built sand castles and some fantastic morning swims. Loved the stars, wallabies & views. The best way to end the year in a beautiful spot with wonderful family. Thank you for having us.

Back for the 6th trip ! Weather incredibly good. Saw a white wallaby on a way to Alonnah. Visited Inala Jurassic Garden. Wonderful place +amazed we haven't been there before. Lots of walks and winery + Bruny Hotel lunches with friends. Hotel is fantastic place for lunch.
Ann & Nick

A nice place with a lots of wallabies and beach
Grusse

Thanks for magical break in a near-empty landscape - a tonic for harassed city dwellers. We shall treasure the memories of the fabulous views, sense of our smallness in this environment and of the spectaculars wildlife.
Geal and Jackie

Wow ! what a magical place to be...honestly don't want to leave. It was so good to just stop and enjoy me moment. Loved the serenity, the peace, the quiet, the rolling surf and atmosphere. We'll be back !

Truly incredible place!! Thank you so much for having us. We loved the serenity to the phone call and instructions prior to our stay. Highly recommended if you just want to have a proper holiday away from crowds.

Sometimes, the simplest pleasures in life are the best. This sums up Cloudy Bay Cabin; an unpretentious and welcoming little timber cottage surrounded by South Bruny National Park and just metres from the shores of beautiful Cloudy Bay Lagoon Stayed with hubby and our 2.5yr old in July 2024. She adored watching the pademelons out the window every morning. We made some fabulous memories on what felt like our own private beach. The cottage was very warm in living areas and bedrooms and the kitchen had every possible utensil one might need during their stay. I was impressed with how much wind was sheltered through the front door set up, which was particularly helpful for keeping the house cosy while hubby and I took turns of photographing Aurora Australis each night. We'll be back again for sure!
Samantha

Fantastic, as usual, glad to see that the key safe is in a more convenient spot and easier to operate.
Gary.

Thank you for sharing this lovely piece of paradise. We arrived in the evening after dark & woke up to the most beautiful view. The sunsets were amazing. The walks on the beach were refreshing and therapeutic. We were even lucky enough to see the Southern Lights. The Cabin was really well-equipped and cozy. Can't say enough wonderful things about our stay.
Yvonne & Justin

Lovely cabin right on the bay with outstanding views. The accommodation was cozy and well equipped. Beds were extremely comfortable. Great place to ‘reset’, unwind and enjoy all the natural beauty surrounding you. The walks on the beach and trails were refreshing and easily accessible. You can easily charge your devices with a convenient USB port, which worked just great. Would highly recommend.
Yvonne G

Selected here as a unique base from which we could tour or explore Bruny Island. The disappointment was that we didn't allow some days to just enjoy this location on its own. We were very comfortable and well catered to. Thank you!
Steve

We stayed here for 2 great nights. Although the drive was long, it was worth this cozy cabin with a beautiful view but the water was freeing. Day 2 we went to Adventure Bay and did the 3 hrs Pennicott Wilderness Cruise. What was the best experience ever (make sure to buy hand warmers) but it was freezing so rug up. Also, sit at the front of the boat. After the cruise, we had warm pumpkin soup and salad where you book the cruise. Then we went to the chocolate factory. The cabin had extremely comfortable beds and a great fire (don't worry, the hot water comes back). The TV is made for a mouse but still works. We also found a dead shark on the beach. Also, the eagles are fantastic. Watch out for the tiny pademelons. And there is a ghost in the mirror. Very cozy rooms, better than expected and this was a great holiday. 10/10 recommend. The bay is a canvas for rainbows - just magical
Anna, Chris, Aurora, and Bec

Cloudy Bay Cabin was lovely and secluded with only an abundance of wildlife visiting throughout our visit. It had everything you would need and it was a peaceful spot to enjoy a few days soaking in the beautiful views. Highly recommended.
Simone

Having stayed previously at this location it still amazes me that the landscape changes daily. we love the seclusion and the wildlife that come with the location. This is the ultimate relax location for good wellbeing. If you want to recharge the batteries, then book into the Cabin and just relax and enjoy life.
Darren Clark

For lovers of wild places Thank you Ben! The cabin was wonderful and the location absolutely astonishing. We loved our time there and will be back. Thank you for your prompt help with getting the oven going! Also just so you know we ran out of gas so changed the cylinder over. I hope you never feel any pressure/need to 'lux' up the cottage. It is perfect as it is. Thank you!!!
Chris

Well we drove in along the driveway in my mum's (borrowed), low clearance 2WD and wondered what we were getting ourselves into, but then we arrived - and realised that we had stumbled into pure magic. We loved this place. Loved the cabin - I hope it never changes, and the setting speaks for itself. We were lucky enough to get 2 perfect days. My husband + daughter did a Pennecott boat tour which they said was 'totally sick' and 'extreme' and 'the coolest thing I've ever done in my life!' I walked up to East Cloudy Head which was incredible. The side trip to Beaufort Bay is also worth it. A rainy day ramble up to Whalebone Point was beautiful, as were long lingering sunsets on the verandah. This is a place to come back to when I need nature, peace, simplicity + solitude. Thank you. It was heaven.

The best place we've visited in our 15 yrs of marriage. I could not have asked for more as I ring my 40th birthday here with my two life lines. This insanely feels close to being to the cosmos. We pay respect, gratitude and bow our head to the original owners of the land.
R, V, and A

The written word sadly fails to do justice to the serenity and state of mind that one experiences in this place. This was my second visit to the cabin and the experience was further enhanced by the presence of 3 other special companions who were equally enchanted with the landscape, vistas and the ambience of the cabin itself. As for the night sky when devoid of clouds, this was nothing short of breath-taking and was itself worth the trek south. Absolutely adore this place and hope to return again before too long. Thank you to the owners for sharing this place with so many.
Marty Connell

Beautiful stay at this peaceful cabin. We had a lovely time watching the waves roll in. Will be forever grateful for this experience. Definitely back soon.
Georgia + Steve

Amazing few days at Cloudy Bay Cabin. Epic location as the photos suggest - but it was all the little things that made the stay all the more enjoyable - Cabin was super clean and felt well looked after, a very professional setup.
James

We stayed at the Cloudy Bay Cabin on Bruny Island for 2 nights. It is in a spectacular location, and is a perfect example of an unspoiled place. The cabin was clean, well-equipped, and offered a fabulous view of Cloudy Bay. We walked the empty beach, caught up on our reading, and rested. I wish we could have stayed longer - maybe on a future visit!
Deb and Chris

A very relaxing time spent on the island. The shack is rustic, warm and comfortable. Will be back for another visit soon.
Andy

We have very nice stay at the cabin. We really enjoyed to stay there.
Shelley Wang

This cabin is all alone. Isolated, lovely and peaceful! What a view. Clean, tidy, everything you need (although next time I’ll be bringing some battery powered candles for soft light and a portable speaker). Everything else we needed was there. A beautiful 3 days. Thank you, we will be visiting again.
Anna

What a wonderful getaway. This rustic cabin is situated down the most atmospheric of driveways - arriving there is half the fun. Absolutely private with incredible views and direct access to stunning Cloudy Bay beach. We found it well equipped and the gas fireplace was perfect for keeping us warm & cosy in the middle of winter. Delightful escape, thank you.

We had a wonderful stay at Cloudy Cabin. The house so remote in the company of wildlife and beautiful birds. The stars at night felt so close. We wandered the beaches and hiked the trails, enjoyed the heater at night and woke to the sound of waves lapping on the shore.
Jo

Our second stay at Cloudy Bay Cabin. Absolutely amazing location. The cabin is comfortable and just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Beautiful walks nearby - Easy Cloudy Head has spectacular views of the friars and Cape Bruny. Short drive to Adventure Bay and the Fluted Cape walk - also spectacular. Lots of pademelons, which even came up on the deck and looked at us through the window - note that we didn't feed them - and Bennett's wallabies. Plus gulls and oyster catchers on the beach. You'll love Cloudy Bay!
Alex W

Another magnificent 8 days at Cloudy Bay Cabin. Endless days of beautiful weather, swimming, walks, jigsaws, books, games and BBQs. Already booked for next year- thanks
The Morley Family

Outstanding location, just behind the dunes on Cloudy Bay, beach is metres from your door. Beautiful Bruny Island scenery, a highlight of our trip around Tassie.
Andrew

Fantastic as always. Peaceful, remote, relaxing. The cabin is always comfortable and allows us to make the most of this amazing spot.
Steve

Beautiful place , so secluded and what felt like your own beach . We had trouble getting the fire going and help was sent over swiftly . So easy to deal with a beautiful Stay
Sara

We enjoyed such a relaxing few days in such a peaceful setting. With an amazing view of the ocean, listening to the waves rolling in with the tide and walking along the sandy beach was a pleasure, Thank you
Sirpa Miettinen

Highly recommend staying here!! Amazing spot if you're a lover of nature, wildlife and the beach!
Matt and Bianca

WOW. The booking team (sincere thanks Ben) took exceptional care from initial booking through to the date we departed. The Cabin was more than what we expected. We wanted remote but very comfortable. Whilst only 12v this was NOT an issue for us, we have a caravan! The Cabin has EVERYTHING needed. From towels, sheets, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, all kitchen utensils/oils/salt/pepper/crockery/cooking to the gas heater (awesome), USB chargers, the outside gas BBQ... just nothing needed. The Fridge is gas, no effort needed! In terms of location. WOW. WOW. WOW. We did not move for 4 days. Just chilled. Walked the beach. Chatted. Read. Drank wine. Cooked. Took photos. And repeated. Fabulous. If you want somewhere to simply ESCAPE then this is definitely the place. YET was easy to head back to civilisation to enjoy EVERYTHING that Bruny has to offer. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Mark and Theresa

We loved our stay at Bruny Island Cabin. The views are amazing and the beach is just lovely. The cabin has everything you need and the heater does a great job on colder evenings. The location is perfect and it's remoteness is good for the souls. We definitely hope to be back.
Birte

What a lovely place to unwind! We did a great walk to Beaufort Bay, enjoyed the magnificent view and the serenity. We even managed to snap a minor aurora as well as the epic Milky Way! Thoroughly enjoyed the heater at night. We would have had to stay a week longer to finish the jigsaw puzzle :)
Dirk + Pauline

5.0 Excellent, Lovely location. Take some extra apples and carrots to feed the local pademelons. Well equipped cabin and fuss free gas heating. Ben was a big help also with a small issue we had. Rachel Aug 13, 2022
Rachel

We loved our 2 night stay at Cloudy Bay Cabin , such a unique environment could have stayed longer . The cabin and surrounds worked well together. Comfortable clean with everything we needed , will definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for the serenity and nature it has to offer
Phil and Glenda

This is a stunning location. The cabin is only about 200 metres from the beach. The view from the cabin across Cloudy Bay is nothing short of fabulous. The cabin itself is a bit rustic and some of the furniture is a bit 'eccentric' in nature, but it is very cosy and comfortable. Because the cabin is 'off grid', appliances are either gas or battery (solar) powered, and consequently items such as a microwave oven and an electric toaster are not on offer. Other than that the cabin has all modern conveniences. There is no wifi, but we had 4G phone coverage. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Dave and Kath

Our stay here was an absolute highlight of our tour of Tasmania. Arriving late at night we could hear the gentle roar of the ocean merely meters away. Our first look at the idyllic location as the sun rose was entirely breathtaking. Being off grid on this property really helped us disconnect and recharge. We were daunted by this at first, but our three days here were so deeply relaxing. The local fauna including wallabies, gorgeous paddy melons and thriving bird life all ventured in to say hello and make friends with us. Well, at a safe distance :). We will be back as soon as we can!!
Rob & Luke

Third visit to this location and we love it. Perfect setting, stunning scenery, and so quiet and peaceful.
Sue & Family

A remote yet stunning location in a cozy beach cabin. The stormy weather only added to the experience. We will stay for longer next time. Rob & Mel

Amazing piece of paradise. We have had the best enjoyment and relaxing stay, we will definitely be back in the summer.
Julia-Ann and Steven

Very beautiful and peaceful
Donna &chris Martin

Had a very relaxing time. Some good long walks along the beach and up to East Cloudy Cape. Not an easy stroll but breath taking scenery and wildlife. Access to beach from cabin proved adventurous due to accumulated water behind the dunes but we found a way round. This was our second visit and definitely won't be our last.
Sue

The cabin is lovely! Found the instructions for restarting the water heater and put them in the front of the folder, probably a good idea to let guests know that everything is set up and ready for them. The walk to Cloudy Bay head was terrific. Thank you.
Penny

Absolutely perfect place to stay! Loved the view ,the wallabies and pademelon every night, Birds!- yellow tailed black cockatoos feasting on the banksia nuts, plus squawking currawongs, green rosellas, pacific gulls, kelp gulls, sooty & pied oystercatchers and more… The walks- we did: East Cloudy Head- great views . Lagoon walk. Adventure Bay- Flutes Cape walk - very beautiful +saw an albino wallaby. Cape Bruny Lighthouse- worth the $15 tour for fab views and Luggaboine Circuit- easy peasy. Could stay much, much longer but will just have to come back- soon! Ps. loved this cabin too!
Alex & Bernard

As a family we have been coming to Cloudy Bay Cabin on and off for the past ten years! And as always this trip did not disappoint. We have had all types of weather from a night of bucketing rains to a 27 degree day. We have all had so much fun swimming and boogie boarding. And we might be locals from Hobart but we were glad of our wetsuits. This is just a beautiful place to stay and we are all ready planning our trip for next year. Miss you already.
Claire, Geoff,Owen,Niamh and Alan

Our first visit to Cloudy Bay Cabin. We’re totally blown away by the view, the wild winds and the untouched beauty of this place. We’ve found ourselves sitting on the verandah for hours, wrapped in the blankets and watching the swell roll in. What a joy to come from the blistering heat of Queensland to the cold winds blowing in from the south. This place reminds us to slow down and I feel truly blessed to have stayed at this beautiful cabin.? No sign of the “old mate” the wallaby, I think my bearded husband has scared him away. We’ll be back this way again and I will dream of this little nest in the Tassie bush. Warm wishes to all who stay here-enjoy your holiday and know that life is truly good. x

“Relaxing escape from busy life” We were so excited about this part of our Tasmanian adventure, and we weren’t disappointed! The Cabin has absolutely everything you need, and our family loved seeing in the new year of Cloudy Bay. The walks over the headlands, along the beach and to explore the wildlife were great. But it was family time in and around the cabin that will be most remembered. Thank you for your kind hospitality- we hope to return in the future!

“Just perfect.” Steve. We had the most wonderful stay. Swims and walks on the beach every day. So many animals each night including one we dubbed “Old mate” as he was always the first to arrive and we looked forward to seeing him.We love the sunsets, Venus in the sky at night, a sea of story, lazy mornings, animals and birds everywhere. Christmas pudding on the beach on Christmas day, games of Up and Down the river and just watching the bay change constantly. Colour, mood and view. The perfect spot for relaxed and low key Christmas. Thank you!

We can’t thank you enough for letting us stay in this cabin. It was wonderful as always. We hope you and your friends and family are safe and well over the next few months. We will be back down to visit you and Cloudy again as soon as we can. Have a lovely Easter weekend.

We are adventurous but also curious. And by-golly did CBC(Cloudy Bay Cabin) provide in our time of need. Quarantine was a privilege and a leaf to spend in amongst the eagles and the black cockatoos. Not to mention the copious number of Bumble Bees they unwittingly trapped themselves in the deck window. Ben you have created a masterpiece of seclusion and happiness in this corner of the world. We salute you! You will see us again, lounging around this humble palace very soon.

If you need some peace and time to unwind Cloudy Bay Cabin is what you need. A beautiful log cabin on a windswept bay at the bottom of Bruny Island. It's clean and comfy ,the big bed is gorgeous and the views are amazing. Can't recommend this place enough.
Stayz review

Great location, very comfortable, a bit like home but with a sea view.
Gary

This part of Bruny is very special, and it felt like we were on our own private beach. It was great to be "off the grid" and have a simpler existence for a few days. The cabin is well set up with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Highly recommended.

Our booking at the Cabin was made last minute and what a great decision. The cabin was immaculately clean and well kitted out and the location is amazing. Ben was super helpful both with the booking and then helping us out the next day with a stay at Cloudy Bay Villa which is another amazing property, it is great to meet someone who is so obviously enthusiastic about their job. Overall I could not recommend either property enough.

The cosy and comfortable log cabin is beautifully situated on green meadows above a strip of coastal vegetation. Beautiful views onto the beach. Secluded, in the midst of the wonderful pristine nature. Swallows nests on the verandah, grazing marsupials (Wallabies or Pademelons?) around the house. Wonderful walks on the beach or to East Cloudy Head. On a cool, rainy day we were greatful for the easy going gas heater.
Daniel

FANTASTIC ! Love the remoteness, very cosy and comfortable. You were right Ben 2 days is not long enough !!! Thanks for sharing.

Fabulous, magical place. Loved the views and the ever present sound of the waves and the birds. Comfortable bedrooms. Cosy and warm despite blustering rain and wind outside. The only slight gripe would be that it would benefit from some detailed dusting in the corners. But otherwise a truly fabulous place for us and our young family. We are looking forward to coming back for longer next time.
Amanda

An amazing location. Our budding 7 year old marine biologist was thrilled to find a whale vertebra on the beach as well as 2 rays and lots of other amazing finds. Despite the pouring rain we had a fantastic time.

Super! What an amazing location + comfortable, relaxing cabin. Lovely to get away from city life even if just for a few days. Hope to come back with kayaks sometime. Thank you

Amazing cabin in a beautiful remote part of Bruny Island. We stayed on a wet and wintery couple of days in September and it was so cosy inside. Loved it!

From the moment you open the gate and take the winding path through the trees you know you are in for something special. The views whilst you drink wine by the fire are spectacular - the cliffs over the bay constantly changed before our eyes as the days drifted by. Such a raw and refreshing environment enjoyed from the cozy log cabin base - highly recommended - we had a ball.

We thoroughly enjoyed Cloudy Bay Cabin. It was clean, warm and comfortable. Best of all it is remote with stunning views and access to the beach. A delightful getaway. Thanks so much

This is a must, on your Top 10 things to do in Tassie...head to one of the most southern parts of Australia, stay in a real log cabin, have amazing uninterrupted sunsets you will ever see and have Cloudy Bay all to yourselves. We loved our time at Cloudy Bay Cabin, thank you Ben and Viktor.
