The Cloudy Bay Beach House exceeded all our expectations, and was the perfect location to celebrate a 60th birthday with family and friends. We had a wonderful dinner, our thanks to Chef Simon and Nicola for coming in and cooking for us! The beach house was the perfect place to come home to after a day of hiking, exploring, fishing or swimming. And our view over the bay never disappointed! The layout of the beach house was ideal for 6 adults, and we found it very comfortable. All you need to bring is a suitcase of clothes! We will definitely be back.

Beautifully designed beach house with sorring floor to ceiling glass walls, not to miss a moment of the view. This is the perfect place to check out from the rat race and explore Bruny, and South Bruny in particular. Our family enjoyed a wonderful long weekend and didn't let the weather stop us from getting out and about. You have access to the lovely East Cloudy Bay track directly from the front door, and the massive living room and master bedroom feature unmatched views looking south over Cloudy Bay and out onto the Southern Ocean. You will find yourself spoiled by the abundant wildlife and birdlife living just on the other side of the windows, and no matter what the outside temperature or weather conditions, you will be as warm as toast inside. This is the ideal location to unwind and get back to nature (in real comfort)!

This is a unique experience for those who would like to live for just a few days in peace and quiet with no visible neighbours, no vehicle noise but just the sound of the breaking waves and the breathtaking scenery. An ideal retreat in a near flawlessly designed house with everything one could want. All one needs is a good supply of all food and drink and a good supply of books on their Kindle and life doesn't get much better. Cloudy Bay is as far away from the ferry as you can get and the nearest 'shop' is 30 mins away so one needs to be mindful of stocking up. It is a treat to be able to spend time here and one should allow themselves at least 3 nights to soak up the sheer indulgence.

We stayed for two nights in July expecting the house to afford sanctuary and comfort in challenging weather conditions and it did just that. The house was well heated and very comfortable in every way. We had friends for dinner and the spacious living, kitchen and dining areas provided plenty of room for food preparation and entertaining. The views are panoramic and free of any man-made distractions. Despite some wet weather we were drawn into the near-pristine outdoors, down the boardwalk to the beach ... ours were the only footprints that day.

Exceptional. My husband and I booked to stay at the Cloudy Bay Beach House for a portion of our honeymoon. It was such a breeze to book, and we were given easy to follow instructions for accessing this isolated property. On arrival we instantly decided we did not want to leave this house as it had such a beautiful outlook over Cloudy Bay with a living space that maximised the natural beauty of the area with massive windows. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with quality easy to use appliances and plenty of cookware, crockery etc. All amenities were excellent. We found as we explored the house that there were plenty of jackets, hats, umbrellas etc stashed around the place which was a nice touch for those who may come unprepared. With the beach only a 5 minute walk down a board walk we did not run out of places to explore whilst staying at the Cloudy Bay Beach House. We only managed to book this beautiful house for 2 nights but have already come up with multiple plans to ensure we can return...

A wild and remote but very beautiful part of Bruny Island.A good base for some good bushwalks and bird watching. Or just relaxing and enjoying the superb views. Or gazing at the starry night sky. Quite a distance to travel, including gravel road and as the road in was rather muddy we were glad our vehicle was a robust SUV. A large and comfortable beach house of generous proportions.We struggled to understand the ceiling and bathroom floor heating but the wall panels and gas heating kept us warm. Beds were super comfortable.

Very special location. Awesome house.Cloudy Bay Beach House is a beautiful place to stay on Bruny Island. It has the most amazing views and is tucked away in a very private location. It is a very easy house to relax in and it caters well for a number of people. We had 3 couples staying for 3 nights and it was perfect even with some bad weather - there were games etc provided and it was nice to stay at the house and enjoy the stormy conditions tucked up in the warm living area. The house provides all that you need for your stay. It is around a 20-30 minute drive from the hotel/vineyard/ Adventure Bay. It is nice to be able to visit those areas easily and quickly but at the same time come back to the very private Cloudy Bay. Communications with the manager and access to the property was easy. There was definitely no problems with the organisation of our stay. We will definitely go back !

Our group of 5 had a lovely stay at the Cloudy Bay Beach House. It was very well appointed - everything we needed and more - along with very comfortable beds. The large open plan living area had fabulous, comfortable furniture to loll in while gazing out over the water wondering how far Antarctica might be. A lovely walk to the Beach through the Forest and boardwalk, but quite steep in parts. Lots of wallabies and Black cockatoos to see along the way. We’ll be back - but for longer next time!

Cloudy Bay Beach House is very very comfortable and with the beautiful location and extremely good design my sister and I are quite homesick for it - looking forward to a return visit. Wild and windy weather for part of the time we were there (May) but plenty of beach walks and cosiness - and Bruny Island oysters - more than made up for that. And Ben called in the morning after the big storm, which was lovely and quite unexpected.

Ever changing wave, had a beautiful warm weather perfect for the beach. No problem with the boardwalk to the beach, (great to check the tide times though !) (just to be safe) Two days of the perfect weather and today a wonderfully windswept,and windy day with white caps and birds taking advantage of the wind and putting in a show! We've enjoyed relaxing and reading on the comfy couches with the odd nap or two thrown in. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen and great BBQ. The Adventure Bay has plenty super if anyone need to stock or re-stock. They get fish and chips on a Friday if you into seafood. They freeze what they don't sell. We've spent quiet a few hours trying to capture the Southern Light from the deck and managed to get a few good pic as well and some great starry night and milky way with our Iphone! Thank you for a wonderful stay. We've had memorable time at Cloudy Bay Beach Home.

We had a wonderful winter's stay at the Cloudy Bay Beach House. The house itself is stunning - 360 degree views from the living room across the wild and beautiful beach. And to be able to stroll down your own boardwalk to explore the beach is wonderful. We had a couple of afternoons of rain and hail and still enjoyed relaxing inside on the enormous and comfy couches, and watching the wild weather unfold before us. The house would easily accommodate 3 couples or a large family gathering. All the amenities are great (especially in the bathroom and kitchen which is so well-equipped) and everything is spotlessly clean. There are so many stunning architectural features, from the outdoor lighting, to the picture windows in the living and master. We absolutely loved our stay. If we were going to be picky, then it would be good to have a larger screen smart TV (it seems very small for the room size, and the streaming didn't work) and the underfloor heating in the second bathroom wasn't working (we are from Qld haha). But these things didn't impact negatively on our stay.

The most magnificent setting over looking Cloudy Bay was our home for 4 days in the middle of a Tasmanian winter . The weather changed constantly but was never an issue as we always seemed to time our walks perfectly . Remote , Rugged but luxurious & unique are all adjectives that still do not do this Beach house justice ! Highly recommended.

We were fortunate enough to spend 2 nights at Cloudy Bay beach house, wow what a magical property situated high up overlooking Cloudy bay. The views are absolutely spectacular! The house is beautifully designed and has everything you could possibly need. We then moved on to the Pier house for 2 nights and were not disappointed, what a stunning spot, we thoroughly enjoyed fishing off the private pier, not that we caught anything but just sitting down at the water side was so peaceful and absolutely beautiful. The weather is wild and windy!Hey! With pelting rain and hail today. The sun also makes its debut and the birds comes out to sing to you. Oh! and did I mention the amazing view from our comfy lounge room too? This morning it is calm outside. The birds and wallabies don’t need to hide. The sun has broken through today and luckily it has come to stay. A walk along the beach is grand. waves making patterns in the sand. 2 Oyster catchers, stop to stare “Who are those people over there?” We watched them for a moment or so they are quite pretty, but we must go. We will explore this southern coast. the “Lighthouse” with great views that boast sheer ruggedness & beauty to bring a serene calm over you. The Beach House is a lovely base to empty out your trusty suitcase. So comfy and spacey, there’s room for all to work round the weather and have a ball.

We spent three nights in this amazing place. The house is fabulous and has a huge living space with everything you could need. Three spacious bedrooms, two with en-suite, and a third bathroom. The view from the bed in the main room is spectacular; what a way to wake each morning! The glassed wall at the end of the living area overlooks a similarly spectacular and breath-taking view of Cloudy Bay beach. The heating throughout the house kept us toasty warm even though it was chilly outside. Located in beautiful natural bushland filled with wildlife, beside the ocean it makes a perfect getaway. Hope to go back again one day. Would highly recommend this accommodation

Everything about Cloudy Bay Beach House is amazing!!! The architecturally designed house, spectacular views (not many places in the world where you can watch the waves rolling in with a backdrop of snow capped mountains!), super comfy beds and everything else you could want - all brilliant! My husband and I were fortunate enough to have the front bedroom. We didnt close the blinds at night (no need, totally private) and Ive not seen so many stars before! Waking up to a glorious sunrises - complete with rainbow the first morning - and watching wallabies hopping around the garden from the comfort of our bed was wonderful. All 6 of us agreed we will definitely be back :-)

Wilderness here is much appreciated, with many thoughts regarding the original inhabitants: The Nuenonne group of the South East tribe of Aborigines. We have all appreciated the time here and to be able to share and soak in the beauty of this wilderness at Cloudy Bay…dreaming of our future return to Bruny Island, be sooner than expected. We’ve enjoyed every single second since we arrived to this beautiful house in a beautiful spot! We saw a Swallow (bird) has made the front door its nest. We try not to disturb and hope the chicks make it. Thank you for your hospitality. We hope to come back in the near future.
