Saintys Creek at Bruny Island is a tranquil and beautiful body of water flowing through centuries-old forest and emptying into the serene Cloudy Bay Lagoon. Saintys Creek Cottage is located on a secluded bush block, a short walk from the creek – and a million miles from the stresses of life in the city.
From the outside, this beautiful timber cottage looks like it may have once housed early settlers, but inside it is timber-lined, warm and welcoming. The large living and dining space has an open fire and electric heating, with a simple kitchen and clean, comfortable furniture.
Glass double doors open up to the large outdoor living deck and a step down to the attractive grass and garden area. Sitting out here at dawn or dusk you may share the space with one of Bruny Island’s unique white wallabies – regular visitors to this garden.
The large bedroom is cosy and clean, with luxurious linen and stunning bush views. The modern bathroom is clean and practical.
For a classic Saintys Creek experience, sit outside with a bottle of nice bottle of red and some of the exquisite local cheeses, so you can engage with the stunning bushland, listening to the birdcalls and taking in the serenity of this truly special place.
Saintys Creek Cottage is located at the southern end of Bruny Island.
Bushwalkers will be spoilt for choice – the majestic old-growth forest is laced with walking trails. The more adventurous may want to take a kayak for a paddle down Saintys Creek and explore oyster-lined Cloudy Bay Lagoon.
This unspoiled seclusion is located more than 30 minutes from the nearest store, so it is recommended visitors bring their own provisions to make the most of the Saintys Creek setting.
