Families, couples, or small groups will find this light-filled beach house cosy, comfortable, and welcoming. The sea view dominates both upstairs and downstairs, with multiple living areas and a sheltered outdoor deck on the first floor.

Downstairs, an open well-appointed kitchen looks out to an expansive dining and living area with a huge dining table – clearly the focus of long dinners whilst sharing stories about the day’s activities. Afterwards, retreat to the comfy leather couches in front of the gas log fire.

Each one of the three bedrooms is comfortably appointed with queen beds, its own ensuite bathroom, and luxury linen. The timber lining and natural finishes throughout the Villa fit with the serenity of the natural surroundings.

An outdoor dining setting at the front makes the most of the ocean view and the rolling acres of open grassland leading down to the beach. There is plenty of room here for outdoor activity – or simply, reading to the sound of distant surf.

Sustainability

Preserving our properties pristine environment is of utmost importance to Bruny Island Coastal Retreats. We have dedicated ourselves to protecting and managing the land which surrounds our accommodations to safeguard the native flora and fauna which inhabit our delicate ecosystems; which unfortunately, are too often rare or critically endangered.

We actively promote responsible waste management by composting all food leftovers and green waste through our large worm farm – a first of its kind in Tasmania – where organic waste is transformed into nutrient-rich compost, thereby, reducing landfill whilst also bolstering our local ecosystems health.

When you choose to stay with Bruny Island Coastal Retreats, you not only indulge in a unique and memorable experience, but also contribute to the conservation of our precious natural heritage. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.

Guest Reviews

This is a magnificent property, the views are spectacular and its very private and quiet. Good basic provisions supplied and everything else at your fingertips that is needed for a pleasant stay. It's the perfect place to unwind and watch the ever changing views while staying warm in front of the gas log fire in the winter, or explore the beauty of Bruny Island. The gorgeous pademelons are an extra treat, there every morning and evening grazing on the grass, quite game too - they come quite close to investigate the humans !

This is a spectacular property. It sits high up on a rise overlooking the whole panorama of Cloudy Bay, which has to be one of the most beautiful bays I have ever seen. There is an easy path down to a completely deserted beach. There is also a rocky promontory in front of the house where rare penguins nest and exquisite rock pools with bull kelp lapping the water's edge. The experience there is one of utter remoteness and retreat and being steeped in deep nature. I felt I was reconnecting with the Spirit of the Earth.......... Waking up to the sound of the pounding waves of the Southern Ocean, looking straight out of the bedroom window onto the bay. The wind and the stillness, clouds moving, the ever changing seascape, barely a light visible at night. Back to basics. The house is very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen, wood paneling in the bedrooms, hardwood floors and 4 bathrooms. The views are absolutely stunning from every window. We had a big family gathering there with 8 people, some from Europe, some from Australia, some country people and some city people and we were all extremely happy with the place. We all felt a profound sense of letting go, relaxation and openness to the beauty of land. We left feeling inspired and refreshed and reconnected as a family. Thank you.

We loved the isolation and looking over a white orb beach with water that stretches to Antarctica! The visiting pademelons are wonderful and they love some fresh fruit (bought from local producer) for breakfast and dinner! The Villa itself was great for our party of three adults and two children. Plenty of bathrooms and toilets are always great for family holidays! The whole island is a gem with great local wines, beers, oysters and bread (make sure you visit The Bread Fridge on the side of the main road - best sourdough on the planet!!!

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Unique in its location and design. Great views from every room. Very comfortable and well equipped. We had an issue in that the sound system was missing. We spoke to Ben and he was there within the hour with a new one, which was a very pleasant surprise. Lots of wild life around. We even saw a white Bennett’s wallaby! We will be back!

This is a very special place to be - the wild wilderness is soothing, vibrant and energizing. And the luxurious setting and comforts make for a perfect holiday. Don’t miss this experience!
